Will the Snow ever Stop!

As I sit here looking out my window at more snow once again, I decided to finish my fingerless mittens (fetching From Knitty)
I love this yarn. Stampato Extra in Rosina, because it reminds me of spring-which I hope will be here sometime in July-I am sure it will take that long for the 4 feet of snow to melt in my yard!

This is a very easy pattern to knit (Thanks, Steff!) and I am planning on knitting several more. After all, these are something I can use all year round living in the Mountains of Colorado!

Mohair shawls

After helping my DIL knit socks for her family reunion, you would think I would learn my lesson about knitting a lot of the same project, but noooooo!!! Hubby and I are meeting his family members in Las Vegas, next month, so I thought it would be very cool to knit all the women a shawl. I found this fabulous yarn, Fountain Hill Brushed Mohair, it knits up easily and best of all, it is inexpensive and each skein has 560 yards, so you only need one skein. I used a very simple pattern for the White Shawl, Simple Triangular Shawl by Janice Farrell Pea, ( and yes, I am modeling the shawl in my comfy pants!) and for the purple shawl, I just cast on 50 stitches and increased every row and every 4 rows I wrapped yarn around my needle twice, just to give it a bit of a flair. I also trimmed this one in a trendsetter blingy yarn.
So only a few more shawls to go and my deadline is 3 weeks away. I better get knitting
